Abstract (EN)
56 SUMMARY The purpose of this study was to asses the swimming exercise level of rats that had zinc and melatonin hormone. în this study 50 rats that were 4 months old were used as subjects. The subjects were divided into 5 groups. Melatonin and zinc suplementation was applied by standardisation of weights of rats (3 10-315 gr.). After 4 week aplication, the blood, muscle and liver samples that were drawn by rats, were analyzed to determine and compare the plasma glucose, zinc, lactate, free and total testosteron, muscle and liver glycogen levels. Glucose levels of zinc group were lower than melatonin and melatonin-zinc groups. Also the groups that were supplied by zinc, melatonin and melatonin-zinc had lower glucose level than control group (P<0.05 ). Plasma zinc levels of the swimming group supported by melatonin and zinc were higher than the other groups (P<0.05 ). Lactate levels of zinc group were lower than the other groups. Lactate levels of melatonin and melatonin-zinc group were significantly lower than swimming control group (P<0.05 ). Although total and free testosteron levels of melatonin group were low, the values of zinc groups significantly increase. Remaining of the total and free testosteron levels of melatonin and zinc group on control group level the negative might be destroyed effect of melatonin.57 Melatonin, zinc and melatonin-zinc suplementation caused to remain or increase muscle- liver glycogen levels after the exercise. Consequently, it can be claimed that zinc suplementation with melatonin might positively effect the exercise performance.
