Abstract (EN)

Breast cancer is one of the most common malignancy for women and one of the most common causes of cancer related deaths for women. Although there are new approachs of it's treatment, it is still an important healthy problem because of its increasing incidence. Breast cancer is a multifactorial disease that very factors are playing roles in its etiology. Genetic factors and family history play major roles in its etiology SIRT1 is an enzyme family related breast cancer that it is believed that its regulation may bring new possibilities for breast cancer treatment. SIRT1 can be regulated with direct application of some molecules or with help of SIRT1 related micro RNAs. miRNA-9, miRNA-34a and miRNA-132 are some of this miRNAs that are believed to be related to SIRT1 regulation. A few studies in literature shows that this micro RNA's levels are decreased in tumor tissues compared to normal tissues of the same patients. In this study, with approval of ethical committee, we invastigated this 3 miRNAs levels in 132 breast tissues which were collected intraoperatively from 66 patients. For all of three micro RNAs, there was no statistically significant difference between tumor and normal tissues. Regarding to previous studies about SIRT1 and related micro RNAs which are sometimes contradictory, we think that more studies are needed about this micro RNAs to illuminate their relations with SIRT1.
