Abstract (EN)
Large-scale migrations in the world emphasizes the need of understanding the complicated experience of leaving home and moving inside or beyond one's own nation. Moving away from home can trigger homesickness and is especially common among people who move to a foreign country for work. Work-related flow experience, on the other hand, is a psychological state characterized by complete absorption in the task at hand, a sense of control and mastery, and a high level of enjoyment and satisfaction. The theme of this dissertation is driven by the growing interest in homesickness as a psychological phenomenon that impacts the well-being and performance of individuals in various settings, including working environment. The purpose of the study is to determine the effect of homesickness on work-related flow experience among migrant employees working at the Libyan Schools in Leeds, in England. Understanding the concept of homesickness and its effects on the work-related flow experience is seen as beneficial for educational organizations because it can be considered to promote productivity and the production and teaching of all types of knowledge. In this context, firstly, the research model was created by examining the variables of the study conceptually. Utrecht Homesickness Scale (UHS) and Work-related Flow Inventory (WOLF) were used as measurement tools to obtain research data. Research hypotheses were tested using correlation and regression analysis. The findings reveal the role of homesickness in predicting work-related flow experience.
