Abstract (EN)

Badruddīn al-Zarkashī lived in Cairo during the reign of the Mamlūks and published more than sixty works in various fields of Islamic sciences mainly in the branches of usūl, fiqh and hadīth. The period he lived was very productive in terms of hadīth sciences. Zarkahsī made an important contribution to the fields of usūl, sharh and rijāl and takhrīj with more than ten books he wrote. One of the aspects of this era was the debates among the scholars of the period. Zarkashī had participated in these debates as an usūl and hadīth scholar and tried to contribute to the solution of issues about hadīth with his different argumentations and opinions. Especially in his Nukat he penned on Ibn al-Salāh's Muqaddima, his views and criticism showed his erudition in the issues of hadīth. In this thesis, it is aimed to show Zarkashī's place in the aforementioned debates of his period by examining his Nukat in comparison with the other works of ikhtisār, sharh and nukat written on Ibn al-Salāh's Muqaddima. As a result of the study, it is seen that Zarkashī made a positive contribution to controversial hadīth issues as a critique and a well-rounded scholar, and also he had an impact on the scholars of the later period. In addition, Zarkashī combined the methods of usūl and hadīth scholars in his works and could put forward different opinions. Accordingly, he successfully demonstrated the inevitable relationship among different the Islamic sciences.
