The individual?s memory is constructed by the group surrounding him and framed by the group?s memory. The subject of this thesis is the framing, transmission and transformation of collective memory. It includes a field work aiming to understand how the emigrants who were settled in Karaburun in accordance with the Lausanne treaty constructed and transmitted memory.
