Özet (EN)
This research was carried out to study the advisability of 17 maize varieties to a second production as silage and foremost effect yield and other agronomic features. Three varieties of experiment were obtained from public institutions? amelioration (TTM 813, Side, Akdeniz) and 14 varieties were supplied from private seed firms (Montani, Bolson, Premier, Bc 678, T-602, Mataro, Donano, Luce, Vero, Gs 308 (ayb 936), Isıdoro, G 9244, Dkc 5783, Dk 585 ). The trial was located on 23rd of June 2005 into practice arable field of Aegean Agricultural Research Institute, according to the randomized complete block design with 4 replications. On the study; (the) number of days to display topic tassel, number of days to display corncob tassel, length of plant (cm), height of corncob (cm), number of leaves (number/plant), diameter of stem (mm), diameter of corncob (mm), ratio of dry matter (%), resulting yield (kg/da), dry matter yield (kg/da), ratio of leaf dry matter (%), ratio of corncob dry matter (%), ratio of dry matter stem (%) were evaluated. The result of variance analysis indicated that the difference among varieties according to the number of days to display topic tassel, the number of days to display corncob tassel, the length of plant, the height of corncob, the diameter of stem, the diameter of corncob, the ratio of corncob dry matter and the ratio of stem dry matter are significantly important however other features were not significant. The varieties that were examined according to the number of days to display topic tassel; Dkc 5783 and Dk 585 maize varieties showed the lowest values of 47.2 days and 49.2 days, on the other hand Akdeniz and Side varieties showed the highest values with 56 days and 55.5 days. The evaluation which was done according to the display of corncob tassel, the lowest value was taken from Dkc 5783 with 51.3 days, Dk 585 and T 602 50 were the second with 52.5 days, on the other hand the highest values were obtained from Akdeniz and Side maize varieties with 60.2 days and 55.5 days. The ratio of dry matter was the highest on Akdeniz maize variety with 40 %, and the lowest on G 9244 variety with 29 %. The highest resulting yield was taken from Vero maize variety with 7621 kg/da, TTM 813 variety showed the lowest resulting yield with 5889 kg/da. When the correlation coefficient was evaluated between the features that were examined and resulting yield; the dry matter yield, the length of plant, the diameter of corncob, the height of corncob and the ratio of corncob dry matter were significant and positive, the number of days to display topic tassel, the number of days to display corncob tassel and the ratio of stem dry matter were significant and negative. As a result, in researches and productions which will be done in our region, Dkc 5783 and Vero varieties can be suggested as a second product with high yield and earlier features.
