Abstract (EN)
The Effect of Motivational Interview on Menopausal Women on Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors and Quality of Life Aim: The aim of this study is to determine the effect of motivational interviewing on menopausal women on healthy lifestyle behaviors and quality of life. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted in a randomized controlled empirical research model. As a result of the power analysis conducted before the study, the study was conducted with 136 women, 68 for experimental and 68 for control group. The research data were collected between January and June 2019 and the Descriptive Information Form, HPLPL II and MENQOL were used to obtain the data. Women in the experimental group received 6 sessions of Motivational Interview (MI) and 2 follow-up interviews in ASMs by the researcher. No intervention was applied to the women in the control group. In the analysis of the data, number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi-square, Bonferroni test, t test in independent groups and ANOVA test for repeated measures were performed. Findings: HPLPL II in the experimental group, health responsibility, nutrition, spiritual development, interpersonal relationships, stress management sub-dimensions and scale total scores were found to be statistically significant between pre-test, mid-test and post-test groups and the mean score increased positively (p <0.001). MENQOL of the experimental group of women; a statistically significant difference was found between the vasomotor, psychosocial, physical and sexual domain sub-dimensions of the pre-test, mid-test and post-test groups (p <0.05). In addition, it was found that the mean post-test HPLPL II scores of the women in the experimental and control groups were statistically significant (p <0.05). The difference between the mean scores of post-test MENQOLvasomotor, psychosocial, physical and sexual area of the women in the experimental and control groups was found to be statistically significant (p <0.05). Result: MI applied to women in menopausal period was effective in increasing women's healthy lifestyle behaviors and menopausal quality of life.
