Comparison of the performances of central banks and various central banks with multi-criteria decision-making methods

The Central Bank is a non-profit organization that is responsible for the monetary policy or monetary system of a country. As a result of the Central Bank fulfilling its functions and responsibilities, confidence in the country and the economy increases. The Central Bank makes strategic decisions for the smooth functioning of the economy. It plays a sensitive role in ensuring financial stability in the country. Central Bank balance sheets are a source of information and are an extremely important indicator of the economic health and financial stability of a country. Therefore, since it contains the status and results of monetary policy, it is known as an information source that decision-making units in the economy can follow while directing their attitudes. The aim of this study is to measure the performance of the Central Banks of various countries by using the ENTROPY technique, which is one of the multi-criteria decision-making methods, and to compare the performance of the Central Banks of countries using the TOPSIS, Gray relational analysis, and COPRAS techniques, by including the performances of the Central Banks of various countries between 2023 and 2022. It consists of 7 alternatives (countries) and 5 criteria. As a result of the evaluation, the performances of the Central Banks were ranked within the framework of certain criteria. The Central Banks with the highest and lowest performance were identified.
