Abstract (EN)

In this study, the importance and necessity of vocational education and rehabilitation services, which is one of the social policy applications for the employment of blind individuals, is explained through blind individuals living in Istanbul. The main purpose of this study is to reveal the negative effects of blind individuals in the areas of education, health care, career choice, employment, independent life and participation in social life. The data were obtained through literature review and interviews and observations with the staff in the institutions and organizations operating for the blind and blind. In this study, the blind person himself and his family psycho-social rehabilitation and social rehabilitation services to the community, without creating work and occupational lists, linking income support and employment, eliminating the obstacles at all levels of education and especially accessibility, vocational training and blindness It has shown that rehabilitation services are not sufficient for blind individuals to become able to produce added value economically.
