Abstract (EN)

Thanks to its marble reserves, Turkey is able to meet the increasing demand for marble in the world. In our country, which has become a supplier in recent years, annual natural stone block production is 11.5 million tons, and also 6.5 million m2 of slabs are produced in processing facilities. Due to the fact that the wastes in different gain sizes, which are formed during marble cutting in the quarry and factory, their usability in buildings in the construction sector, has been the subject of much research. Positive results were obtained in the studies on the usability of marble waste in paving stone production and it was seen that the data obtained met the TSE standards. Paving stones are directly affected by the atmospheric events due to their usage areas. These effects cause negativities in the physicomechanical properties of the stone over the years, and fractures and cracks may occur. In this study, in order to determine the aggegate properties of marble wastes, specific gavity, water absorption, sieve analysis, fragmentation resistance, flatness index and frost resistance tests with magnesium sulfate were carried out. Concrete samples produced by obtaining a recipe in accordance with the TS 802 'Concrete Mixture Design Calculation Principles' standard and were evaluated in terms of compliance with the TS 2824 EN 1338: 2005, 'Concrete Paving Blocks for Flooring' standard. In addition, freeze-thaw and sulphate resistance tests were carried out to reveal the resistance of the paving stone to environmental factors.
