Abstract (EN)

This research conducted to determine the effects of different nitrogen doses on yield and some quality traits in sorghum x sudangrass (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench x Sorghum sudanense (Piper) Stapf) hybrids at Mezitli province of Mersin as second crop. Sugar Grazer 2 cultivar was used as plant material and 3 different harvest dates practiced. The effects of seven different nitrogen doses (0, 5, 10, 15, 10+5, 20 and 10+5+5 kg N/da) were studied on plant height, number of leaf, leaf proportion, tiller number, green fodder, dry herbage and crude protein yield, NDF, ADF and ADL ratios. In the result of this study, highest plant height was obtained from 20 kg/da N at first and second harvests whereas 10+5+5 N kg/da application were give best results for plant height in third harvest date. Depend of rising amount of nitrogen, tillage amount was increased. There is no significance difference between nitrogen doses for leaf/stalk ratio. Highest amount of tiller number was achieved in 20 kg/da dosage at second harvest date (8,8 number/plants). Total highest green, dry fodder and crude protein was achieved 11864,4; 3369,4 and 231,2 kg/da respectively from 20 kg/da application. Crude protein, NDF, ADF and ADL ratios are not affected by differences in nitrogen doses. Consequently highest plant height, tiller number per plant, green fodder yield, dry herbage and crude protein yields were determined in 20 kg/da application.KEY WORDS:, nitrogen dosages, yield components, NDF, ADF, ADL, second crops.
