Challenges and problems of vocational high school staff

The study aimed to discover the difficulties and problems faced by the personnel working in the vocational high school and offering suggestions to overcome these difficulties and to solve these problems. In this way, it was aimed to fill the gap in the literature and to raise awareness about the difficulties and problems experienced. The research was conducted with the participation of ten personnel working in the 2022-2023 academic year in vocational high schools in Şereflikoçhisar district of Ankara province with the maximum diversity sampling. The research was carried out in the form of observation, interview and document review with the case pattern, which is one of the qualitative research methods. In the research, semi-structured interview questions were used. Ten questions were asked to the participants related the sub-problems of the research. By providing flexibility and freedom to the participants with semi-structured interview questions, the opinions and judgments of the participants were tried to be taken in depth. The opinions of the participants were analyzed by using descriptive analysis method. At the end of the research the problems and difficulties experienced by the vocational high school personnel; It has been revealed that it is related to legislation, other stakeholders, physical structure of the school, management, course material, technological infrastructure of the school, students, parents, service provided, other personnel, teachers and professional development.
