Examination of the relationship between communication skills with humour usage of vocational school children's education department students (MAKU sample)

Pre-school education is one of the most important periods of a child's life. This is a period in which the child's learning skills are at the highest level and his development is very rapid. In this period, the education of child development experts who will give education to children and attitudes and attitudes towards these children are very important. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between communication skills and humor usage of Child Development students in vocational schools. This study was carried out using correlation research method, in Bucak District of Burdur province, Hikmet Tolunay Vocational School, Child Development Department of 102 students. The "humor scale in adolescence" developed by Orhon and the "communication skills scale" developed by Korkut were applied on the same day and hour. The humor scale in adolescence is a 4-volume Likert scale consisting of 35 items and it consists of three factors. Communication Skills Assessment Scale is a 5-li likert type scale developed to understand how individuals evaluate communication skills and it consists of 25 items.the correlational research model was used in the study. Correlation analysis is a statistical research method used to determine if there is a relationship between two variables and if there is a relationship, what direction and degree this relationship is.Data were analyzed using statistical analysis program. As a result of data analysis, the relationship between the subtypes of the humour scale and the communication skills scale was evaluated together, and the humour scale was found to be related to the severity of anxiety. In other words, the use of humor to deal with anxiety in terms of students shows a meaningful relationship with communication skills.
