Investigation of lifelong learning tendencies of vocational education center students: The case of Batman province

The thesis aims to determine the lifelong learning tendencies of the students in vocational training centers, which have increased in importance in recent years. The survey method was used in this research. The sample of the study consists of 197 randomly selected students studying at Batman Vocational Training Center. In the research, personal information form and Diker Coşkun's (2009) "Lifelong Learning Tendencies Scale" were used. Descriptive statistics (arithmetic mean, standard deviation, etc. tests), T Test and Anova Test, which are parametric tests, were used to analyze the data. SPSS program was used for the analysis of the research data. As a result of the research, students' lifelong learning tendencies were found to be high. In addition, lifelong learning tendencies of women were found to be higher than men. No difference was found according to the age and educational status of the students. When students' lifelong learning and the departments they studied were compared, it was seen that there were significant differences. It was found that students of information technology department and beauty and hair care department had higher lifelong learning tendency than students of food and beverage services department. It was found that the students of the metal technology department had a more positive view of lifelong learning than the students of the machine technology department. Finally, it was analyzed that the fashion design department had higher lifelong learning than the machinery and food and beverage services department students. Among all departments, furniture and interior design department students have the highest lifelong learning desire.
