Abstract (EN)

Educational institutions are one of the most essential elements that affect the social shaping of human life, societies, and the world. It seems that the impact of all kinds of activities carried out in educational institutions affects humanity in the form of circles, like an object thrown into stagnant water. Implementing the concept of occupational health and safety, which is carried out in educational institutions, should be exemplary. Occupational health and safety practices aim to ensure that employees are at full human living standards physically, mentally and in their social lives. Occupational health and safety covers all continuous measures and activities to eliminate the risks and hazards that employees may enFrekamser to protect their health. With the regulations brought by the Law No. 6331, the Occupational Health and Safety institution, which conceptually complements each other, covers all the work to be done and the health and safety measures to be taken against the situations that employees may be exposed to in the business areas. While workplaces are determined according to hazard classes, they are calculated by considering the working hours allocated to the workplaces and the number of people working there. According to the legislation still in force, educational institutions are generally listed as less dangerous workplaces and the time spent on the job is calculated as 10 minutes on a per person basis. What is not taken into acFrekams here is students who are in the same environment as the employees and carry the same risk. When this situation is investigated, it is a fact that cannot be ignored that students are very likely to have work accidents. In this study, it was tried to determine the level of awareness about occupational health and safety in the education sector. With the study, questionnaires were applied to teachers and administrators working in vocational and technical education institutions and students continuing their education and the analyzes of these questionnaires were obtained. The study aims to reveal the contributions of the activities to be carried out with the adoption of occupational health and safety practices in the field of education, which is an important factor in the formation of the social structure, and the dimensions of the risk if they are not realized. As the sample of the study, vocational and technical Anatolian high schools in Düzce province were selected without any field discrimination. Questionnaires were delivered to educational institutions via Google Forms. During the implementation of the questionnaires, the students were informed about the situation by entering the classrooms themselves, and the forms were delivered to the students who wanted to participate. Meetings were held with teachers and shared in school groups. School administrators were personally interviewed and asked to participate. As a result, 15 administrators, 51 teachers and 249 students participated in the surveys. The questionnaires were examined in the SPSS program. The results were presented to the risk assessment board of the participating schools and regulatory and preventive recommendations were made to take the necessary measures.
