Abstract (EN)

In this research, it is aimed to present the opinions of teachers who work at vocational and technical secondary schools about privatization in vocational education. In order to establish conceptual frame, firstly the literature review was conducted in political, economic and social fields of the privatization. Secondly, the literature review was done in the educational field of the privatization. Also, the literature review was done in the vocational education field which is the subject of the research. Finally, the concept of privatization and vocational education is discussed. In this quantitative research, Teachers' Opinions about the Privatization of Vocational Education Scale is developed by the researcher. The scale has three dimensions which will give required data: Social Benefit, Human Resources, and Funding. The sample of this research consists of 378 teachers who work at vocational and technical secondary schools in Istanbul province. The opinions of 484 teachers who has participated in the research are evaluated. As the result of analyses the data, it is found out that teachers' opinions about the privatization of vocational education are not positive in all three dimensions. Considering the opinion of teachers, it is understood that primary concern about privatization in vocational education is in the social benefit dimension.
