Using of Mesnevis as a means of value transferring in literature education

In this study, regarded as one of the important sources of Turkish literature, the main values in mesnevis are found under the titles of Moral and esthetic values. The relation between the mentioned values and the humanitarian values aimed to be acquired in the National Education curriculum are examined. With this art education, esthetics education, the definition of literature education, the importance of literature education is touched upon; the moral and esthetic vaules are found and compared to the attainments aimed with literature education.In the first part of the research; according to the problem the the aim, importance, constraints, assumptionsand the definitions of the research is identified and relative research are included. . On theoretical basis, the concept, definition, properties, classification, function, and the teaching of value; value transfer with texts in literature education; National education, curriculum and the place of values in the general aims of secondary education is stated.From the descriptive research techniques, the general scanning model is used in the research. The 14th century mesnevis constituted the universe of the research and the chosen narratives from the different types of mesnevis created in the 14th century constituted the sample of the research. After finding the values processed individually in the mesnevis, he found values are evaluated under different under separate headings and then interpreted. The values obtained are found to be transferred via mesnevis according to the gainings of National Education.In the findings, the values of righteousness, justice, modesty, goodness, patience, loyalty, etc. are found to shine out in mesnevis; by finding these corresponding values between National Education curriculum or the value acquisition aimed in the general goals of Secondary Education Turkish Language and Literature and the acquisition inside the mesnevis, it has been come to conclusion that these values can be taught via mesnevis.
