The effects of resveratrol, crom picolinate and thiazolidinedions to the a-fabp, adiponectin and tnf-? levels in the rats with metabolic syndrome

Abstract (EN)
Metabolic syndrome, developing into pandemia, is an important morbidity cause. Besides the environmental factors, the hereditary characteristics also have a role in the process of Metabolic Syndrome. In this study carried on the rats which were infected with MS we aimed at researching the effects of such agents as tiazolidindion, chromium picolinate and resveratrol on A-FABP, while observing and recording the levels of TNF-? and the adiponectin secreted by adipose tissue.For our study, we formed six groups each of which consists of 10 Spraque Dawley rats the weight of which were 250±20 gr. The first group was formed by the rats fed with standard rat feed for a period of six weeks. After developing MS by giving 10% fructose to the rats in the group 2-5 for 6 weeks, we gave chromium picolinate to the 3rd.group.The 4th. group was given resveratrol, the 5th. group was fed with normal diet and the 6th. group was fed with TZD. After the completion of the applications above, the rats were decapitated and A-FABP, TNF-? and some biochemical parameters were analysed in the blood samples.When the MS group was compared with the control group, it was determined that triglyceride, VLDL-K, T-Kol, glucose, uric acid, A-FABP, insulin, TNF-? and the insulin resistance was higher and adiponectin and the levels of HDL-K was lower in the MS group. It was also determined that in comparison to the MS group the level of adiponectin was higher in TZD and resveratrol group (p<0.05) and the insulin levels were lower (p<0.05) in the chromium picolinate group.It was also established that the serum glucose level in the group of TZD and chromium picolinate decreased significantly (p<0.05, p<0.01) while HDL-K (p<0.01) was significantly increasing. T-Kol (p<0.05, p<0.01) and TNF-? (p<0.01) level decreased significantly in the group of chromium picolinate and resveratrol while there was a significant decrease in the HOMA-IR in TZD and resveratrol group (p< 0.01, p<0.05).Although the main factors in the development of metabolic syndrome were the increased TNF-? and the decreased level of adiponectin, The researches showed that A-FABP might have a role as central regulator of insulin resistance, lipid metabolism and inflammation. We are of the opinion that the positive results of the treatments may well be regarded as a significant contribution to the treatment of MS.Key Words: Metabolic syndrome , A-FABP, adiponectin and TNF-?.
