Abstract (EN)

In this project, it is aimed to produce Metal Boride (MAB) structures in the laboratory environment in atmosphere controlled furnaces and to carry out related characterizations. As today's technology advances, more and more materials are needed. Different properties are sought in materials, such as sometimes being more robust, sometimes showing better conductivity. For this reason, new members are being added to the materials science family every day. MAX and MAB structures are among the new generation materials that have lately entered materials science and are rapidly being accepted and studied. In metal boride (MAB) structures, properties such as better thermal and electrical conductivity, high resistance to oxidation, abrasion and thermal shock come to the fore. In this material called MAB phase, M represents transition metal (Mo, Cr, Mn, Fe, W, Hf, Ru, Y), A represents Aluminum (Al) element and B represents Boron (B) element. In this study, the selected 111 (MoAlB) and 212 (Mn2AlB2) MAB phase structures were produced using an atmosphere controlled furnace instead of other production methods in the literature. Densities, powder grain sizes, crystal structure and % purity values of the produced MAB structures were investigated. Keywords: MAB, Metal boride, Mn2AlB2, MoAlB
