Abstract (EN)
In the recycling of metal scrap, the transportation of scrap is provided by construction machinery. The construction machinery used for the transportation of scrap is called material handling crane. The necessary hydraulic and mechanical calculations of such machines must be carried out with caution. The technical characteristics of the handling crane, which is the subject of this thesis, has a boom span of 14 meters and a lifting capacity of 3.5 tons. The aim of this thesis is to design and optimize this crane because the handling crane with the specified characteristics is not available in an industrial environment. In this study, material handling crane designs are made by using SolidWorks program. Static and modal analyzes were performed with ANSYS program and the most appropriate design was created as a result of the necessary optimization studies. The data of the optimization studies were visualized using Excel. The problems that arose with finite element analysis were evaluated and solutions were sought.
