Abstract (EN)
In this study, production of catalysts using different catalytic metal nanoparticles and testing of the catalysts on selective catalytic reduction system (SCR) were aimed. Ag-Nb-Pt/Cordierite (ANP), Ti-V-Cu/Cordierite (TVC) and Ti-V-Mo/Cordierite (TVM) catalysts were produced by using impregnation method and the characterization of these catalysts was determined by SEM, BET and XRD analyzes. Performance tests of catalysts having the desired properties were carried out with the designed SCR system. Tests were performed at 30000 h-1 space velocity, in different temperatures (200 oC to 300 oC) and at different engine loads (1 kW, 2 kW, 3 kW and 4 kW). Alcohols as oxygenated hydrocarbon reductant (ethanol, propanol, n-butanol, n-pentanol and their equal mixture) were used. After performing the performance test of ANP catalyst, ANP-TVC, ANP-TVM and ANP-TVC-TVM catalysts were formed with side-by-side with other catalysts and performance tests of these catalysts were performed. NOx conversion efficiencies of all catalysts were determined depend on exhaust gas temperature. With the use of the catalysts and the reductants, NOx conversion rates changed between 42% and 90,6%.The highest NOx conversion efficiency was obtained by using n-butanol at 300 oC on 1 kW engine load, and the best activity was determined by the ANP-TVC-TVM catalyst.
