Abstract (EN)

Metallic glazes are glazes with visual effects obtained by different firing methods. In order to obtain a metallic glaze, it is necessary to add oxides that give a metal effect on a shiny glaze at increasing and decreasing rates. Metal oxides are oxides that give a matt shine effect to the glaze surface when they are generally combined with the glaze bodies. The firing temperature and application method are very important in the formation of metallic glaze. This research includes a research program in which metallic glazes are studied practically, firing temperature and positive glaze programs are included, and experiments are conducted with gradually decreasing additions of various raw materials and oxides. This research consists of four parts. In the first part, the general definition of ceramic glazes and classification of artistic glazes, in the second part, the history of metallic glazes is given and some ceramic artists working with metallic glaze are discussed. The third section includes the research program in which the definition of raw materials and oxides used in metallic glazes, experiments and different firing atmospheres are applied. In the last part, secrets that gave positive results were selected and personal applications were started. As a result of personal applications, glazed products with different visual effects were obtained. Keywords: Artistic glazes, Metal oxides, Metallic glazes
