Abstract (EN)
Culture is one of the most important elements that enable a nation or community to meet at a common point. Today, the cultural transfer is conveyed by many mass media in oral or written form. Cinema is one of the mass media tools that reflects the cultural transfer both verbally and in writing and deals with the feelings and thoughts, lifestyle, beliefs, and culture of the society in which it lives. Cinema, which is in the sub-branches of fine arts and also known as the seventh branch of art, is a source for folklore studies in terms of carrying natural or fictional images and containing auditory data. Therefore, folklore and cinema interact with each other. Issues such as the oil crisis, economic troubles, political and social events, migration from rural to urban, modernization, class change in the 1970s took their place in Turkish cinema. Zeki Alasya and Metin Akpınar's films also dealt with these period's issues with comedy or humor. In addition to the cinema, social and political events were also exhibited at the Devekuşu Cabaret Theatre, in which the duo took part. In this study, it is aimed to determine and to examine the elements of Turkish folk culture in eight films covering the years 1974-1978, in which Zeki Alasya and Metin Akpınar acted together. In the study, document analysis was used as a data collection technique. In the study, cultural elements were tried to be determined within the classification and many folk culture elements were encountered.
