A research on values education through texts: Girls' Kiraat Teacher

In this study, it is aimed to examine the 4th and 5th volumes of the book "Kızlara Mahsus Kıraat Muallimi", which was prepared by Ebu'l-Muammer Fuad for inas high school in 1329 (1911), in terms of values education. Books are works that aim to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills that they can use throughout their lives, rather than just transferring information, and do not see education as disconnected from life. By examining these books, it is aimed to obtain information about the understanding of values education in the Second Constitutional Period and to determine the historical development of values education. Since the research is based on texts, the basic qualitative research design, which is one of the qualitative research designs, was used. Content analysis was used in the analysis of the data. According to the findings obtained from the research, it has been seen that the most frequently encountered values are morality, health, cleanliness and friendship, respectively. It has been concluded that the texts in the books prepared for use in İnas high school can be used for value transfer in Turkish lessons and that the study can guide future research.
