Abstract (EN)
Energy has become one of the most important issues of modern day in both national and international platform because of global warming and power supply safety. Main objective in countries that depends on external energy source which belong to other countries is efficiently using energy and give priority to domestic sources. There are two major subjects about sustainable development. One of these is taking into account of energy using for next generations and the other one is protecting the environment. Transport sector and energy policies, have a vital importance in sustainable development. These are two major issues that affect human life. Because of this, transportation in metropole cities is also very important subject for city life. Especially in cities that are high population zone, electrical railway systems have been preferred because of high transportation capacity, rapid transit and comfort parameters. In Turkey, notably in İstanbul, Ankara and İzmir, electrical railway systems have been preferred for main transportation like other metropolises. When population density, transportation capacity per day, length of transportation network and other parameters are taken into account, İstanbul Transportation Incorporated Company, which is operator of the electrical railway transportation systems in İstanbul, is the biggest operator of the intracity electrical railway transportation systems in Turkey. The company nearly consumes 1/1000 electrical energy of Turkey. So far, some operations have been implemented for energy efficiency and energy efficiency strategies. These are efficient driving techniques, optimisation of signalization, regenerative braking and lightening efficiency. On the other hand, increasing transportation capacity, development of technology, increasing of cost of maintenance and repair and energy demand forced to set up an energy management system for İstanbul Transportation Incorporated Company for sustainability of service quality. In this thesis, an energy measurement, monitoring and management system was designed for the energy consumption of Istanbul Transport Inc. and an energy management within the framework of ISO 50001 Energy Management Standard was established. The designed system was installed and commissioned and the energy data of the years 2016-2017 were examined. The data were evaluated in line with the energy management system. The energy management system study was carried out with reference to ISO 50001 standard.
