Abstract (EN)
Our country is located in a very active geography in terms of earthquakes. Since the concrete produced on site is used in on-site inspections after earthquakes, it is observed that the existing concrete strength in these structures is at a very low level, and a significant part of the reinforcements are corroded and non-ribbed. At the same time, workmanship errors and inspection deficiencies during manufacturing cause our buildings to not perform as expected against earthquakes and cause great material and moral losses. In this context, since demolition and rebuilding of all existing structures is not feasible in terms of economy, functionality and time, it is appropriate to repair the necessary parts of such structures and to make the parts that cannot be repaired safe by means of various strengthening techniques. Adding reinforced concrete curtains to the appropriate parts of the building, which is one of these strengthening methods and one of the most used, will contribute to the earthquake safety of the building by providing a significant increase in the rigidity of the existing building. In this thesis study, based on the TBDY-2018 regulation, the performance of an existing reinforced concrete school was evaluated by nonlinear calculation method (nonlinear analysis) and it was decided to strengthen the structure. Then, three different reinforcement proposals were presented for the structure and performance analyzes of the reinforced cases were made for the desired earthquake ground motions. It was ensured that the structure reached the desired earthquake performance level. Keywords: Reinforcement, earthquake, earthquake performance, reinforced concrete frame, stiffness
