Abstract (EN)

Nowadays, the use of masonry buildings in the city center in Turkey, although the sector is still ongoing, though upsetting pages are made and used. Masonry structures consist of structures where building materials such as brick, adobe, briquette, wood are placed on top and combined with their own weight or with mortar to form carrier elements such as walls, arches, domes, vaults, columns. Our country is under earthquake risk because active tiles can be exceeded. Earthquake behavior of masonry structures is more complex than reinforced concrete structures. Rules about the rules to be followed in masonry building calculations. Turkey Earthquake Building Regulations (TBDY18) was published in March 2018 and entered history as January 1, 2019. When the new earthquake building is examined, it can be found in a masonry configuration under the effect of an earthquake. In this thesis, it is aimed to investigate the earthquake performance of masonry structures according to TBDY 2018. According to the Regulation on Buildings According to Earthquake Zones 2007 (DBYBHY07), 10 masonry building projects were selected in Afyonkarahisar to show the general masonry building stock that has been designed and completed. These selected masonry portals were modeled and analyzed according to the macro modeling method, when required, STA4-CAD analysis package program using finite element method. After the analysis, the suitability of the buildings according to the new design criteria and whether they meet the performance targets in the new earthquake code were evaluated. In addition, the change in the compressive strength of the brick and mortar used in wall construction was examined one by one for the values specified in the regulation and their effects on the building performance were evaluated. As a result of the analysis, it was seen that the mortar strength was more effective on the performance of the wall than the strength of the wall.
