Abstract (EN)

Mevlânâ Celâleddîn-i Rûmî (v. 672/1273) is a great law scholar and sufi who lived during the Turkish Seljuk State. He has influenced the generations for centuries since the time he lived, and he has affected politicians and large masses of people in almost every century, including the period when he was alive. Mevlânâ, who we knew him as a madrasah teacher and he had a classical Islamic scholar profile, until he has met with Shams Tebrizî whose work Makâlât which we have insufficient resources about it. Undoubtedly, we have limited knowledge about Shams with Mevlânâ's works through Mevlevî resources. After he met Shams, he experienced a great change in spiritual sense, and he had a character that could be called "before Shams" and "after Shams". In some studies on Mevlana's historical personality, who was one of the Turkey's prominent scholars and Sufi's in XIII of Turkey, were depicted him that he was making Mongol propaganda in Anatolia and he was seeking ways to solidify Mongolian power. As we shall see examples below, he was shown as someone who worked as a spy for Mongols. Also he was depicted as someone who kills people when necessary, plundered wealth, said rivals things that should not be told. The fact that the owners of these allegations are as well as they frequently refer to the "sources", has begun to be considered as "truth" by the academical environments. Here, we will question the truth value of the relevant claims, discuss whether the quotations from the sources conform to a methodology and we will consider how the claimants deal with the issue through relevant sources. Keywords: Mevlânâ Celâleddîn-i Rûmî, Turkish Seljuk State, Shams-i Tebrizî, Mongols.
