Education of values with in the works of Mevlana İdris Zengin

The aim of this project is to identify the values that desired to be introduced to the children in the works of Mevlana İdris Zengin, one of the prominent writers of children's literature. The aim of this project is to identify the values that desired to be introduced to the children in the works of Mevlana İdris Zengin, one of the prominent writers of children's literature. In the research, descriptive survey model and document analysis techniques of qualitative research methods are used. Works are firstly examined in terms of language and expression, content, subject, main idea and characters. Then, the values identified in the works are classified according to 30 values determined by the Board of Education of the Ministry of National Education, values related to Islamic life style and additional universal values. Which values are found in which books and the way these values are expressed in the works are recorded by specifying the page numbers. Tables and graphs have been created to identify frequently processed or little-mentioned values. As a result of the study, It was seen that the values that are included most in the works of Mevlana İdris Zengin are the values that support world peace and human sensibility in order to eliminate the negative effects of wars on children. Also, it has been observed that the teachings of the Islamic culture, where the values associated with the mother-father-child relationship are based very frequently, have been widely mentioned. It is foreseen that the books mentioned in the conclusion section of Mevlana İdris Zengin can be taught in educational institutions and it is appropriate to include the works with values belonging to Islamic culture in the religious lessons books determined by the Ministry of Education.
