The importance of Mezraa Höyük pottery finds within the second half of the third millennium B. C. of Middle Euphrates zone

Mezraa Höyük is located 7 km south of Birecik in Şanlıurfa province. Mezraa Höyük was first excavated as in 2000-2002 a Salvage Project of the Archaeological Heritage of the Ilısu and Carchemish Dam Reservoir. 2005-07 rescue operations that conducted by the cooperation of the Şanlıurfa Museum and Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Department of Archaeology and Assist. Prof. Dr. Derya Yalçıklı was chaired by the scientific. The aim of this dissertation is to determine the Mezraa Höyük in the second half of the third millennium by means of its pottery exposed in rescue operations and the relationship between seasonal environmental cultures of this settlement. In this study, the pottery of Mezraa Höyük was studied in details of the site which was defined. The cultural development and changes of this period has been carried out by the help of all these pottery finds.All of these analyses were showed through drawings, pictures and charts. At the end of the analyses of ware, form of pottery from the second half of the third millennium site by cataloguesation, statistical works, and their similarities were searched on the other seasonal sites.
