Abstract (EN)
Objective: While the use of Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) in medical education and post-graduate education is becoming more and more widespread in the world, there is little information about the use of MOOC in medical education and after graduation in our country. Thus, it is planned to carry out a survey study in Turkey to have information and expand awareness about the usage of MOOC for education and training purposes in the field of ENT after graduation. Method: The ENT specialists and students who are members of the ENT platform of the Turkish ENT Association form the research universe. The prepared questionnaire was published on the communication platform of the ENT Association platform, and volunteers were asked to answer the questionnaire by clicking the link. Results: A total of 210 volunteer ENT specialists and students participated in the survey study. 69% of the participants were women, and 31% were men. The majority of the volunteers (26,2%) were in the 36-40 age range. 53.8% (113) of the volunteers were working as a specialist doctor, 19,5% (41) as an assistant, 10.5% (22) as a professor, 8.1% (17) as an associate professor, 8,1% (17) as an assistant professor in the period when the study was conducted. While only 19 (9%) respondents answered "yes" to the question "Do you know about MOOC programs?" the ratio of participants who were previously involved in the MOOC platform was determined as 2.9% (6). When the relationship between academic title and being aware of the MOOC program was evaluated, it was determined that the instructors were aware of the MOOC programs at a statistically significant level compared to the specialists and assistants (p = 0.032). 51% of the respondents responded as "I completely agree" to the opinion that MOOC can be used for post-graduate education in medicine. However, the majority of volunteers remain undecided about using them as criteria for an academic upgrade. Conclusion: As a result, it was found that the use of MOOC programs in post-graduate ENT education and the information of volunteers in this area were quite low.
