Abstract (EN)

Purpose: The aim of this study is to develop a blended faculty development program for Clinician–Educators and to evaluate the results with the Kirkpatric model by applying for the developed program. Method: Internal medicine (17) and obstetrics (7) educators were included. According to the Kern model, the literature and the educational programs of the faculties were reviewed for the needs analysis step. Structured focus group interviews were conducted. The program was carried out as a blended education with 5 modules over the online education learning management system, and face-to-face education was carried out. For the first step of evaluation, the result of the survey of participants was compared with the satisfaction survey. For the second level, the pretest-posttest results of the education were compared. For the third level, the opinions of the residents before and after the training on the educational activities were taken. Results: According to the survey results; logout access scored 4.74, training technique-targeting; 4.75, program content; 4.77, course performance; 4.72, session duration-methods;4.89, satisfaction; 4.85. In online training, the median pre-test result was 3.5, and the post-test result was 7; In face-to-face training, the pretest result was 10 and the post-test result was 12 (p<0,001, p=0,001). After the educational training, journal club activity in clinics statistically increased (p<0.001). The sequence in the assignment of training services for post-training services was statistically exemplary (p=0.001). While the statistical increase was determined in the elective exams supervised in terms of safety exams after education (p=0.016), no change was found in other assessment and evaluation methods. Conclusion: This study has the feature of being the first clinical faculty development program developed, implemented for postgraduate medical education, and evaluated with the Kirkpatric model. According to the research data, the program was successful at every stage of the program evaluation. Keywords: postgraduate medical education, faculty development, program evaluation
