Abstract (EN)
The actual realities such as globalisation and migration has brought multilingualism within. Thus, the first language, second language, mother tongue and origin language have become a current issue at the same time these phrases have tried to define and to be distinguished from each other. This dissertation specifically focused on the concept of mother tongue, the relevance of mother tongue for the emotional and cognitive development of the individual and their state in society, success in school and of course many more aspects are discussed. Mother tongue is seen as a prerequisite for learning other languages. Many studies, published in the recent years, showing deficits of Turkisch children living in Germany in their mother tongue skills. The empirical study tried to indicate if the deficits of mother tongue occur in the group of proband students, by using several tests and free-writing techniques. Additionaly was tried to figure out, if there is any relationship between their language skills in turkish and german, based on the interdependence hypothesis.Withhout any doubts the mother tongue is influenced by the language and culture of the emigration country and become different. Like for example the turkish language, spoken by the turkish immigrants in Germany, is different than the turkish of native turkish speakers. The turkish, spoken by the immigrant children didn?t receive any mother tongue education in school or kindergarden, is the same turkish, spoken by their families. Many international studies got the topic of failure of immigrant children, in particular of turkish immigrant children. This study asked for the reasons of these failure of turkish children in the education system in Germany. Furthermore this failure is taken in relationship between deficits of mother tongue and not enough (or none) mother tongue education in Germany. Finally the german perception of multilingualism in its education system, its recent measures and the state should be reached by it is dicussed.Key words: Mother tongue, deficit of mother tongue, migration
