Abstract (EN)
Plastic is a relatively new invention in human history, with some of the first examples dating back to the late 1800s, but its versatility and low cost of production have made it one of the most widely used materials of modern times. Because plastic material is strong, light and adaptable; It is fo-und and used in many products, from household goods to medical equipment, banknotes, packaging, motor vehicles, buildings and fishing nets. As beneficial as plastic is, its overuse and ineffective waste management has quickly made it one of the most common pollutants on our planet. The large volume of plastic waste produced every year makes effective waste management difficult, and recycling plastic waste can be difficult and economically very costly. We frequently encounter plastic waste in many areas and regions, from our oceans to our beaches, from our cities to our rural areas. This plastic pollu-tion threatens not only the environment but also human health. Although the health effects of plastic are still a new area of research, scientific results to date show that plastic causes diseases, disability and premature death throughout its life cycle. Toxic chemical additives and pollutants found in plastics threaten human health on a global scale. Among the scientifically proven negative health effects of plastic: causing cancer or altering hormone activity (known as endocrine disruption); This can lead to reproductive, growth and cognitive disorders. This study explores from an anthropological perspective a truly global crisis that is choking our rivers and oceans, polluting the food we eat, the air we breathe and the water we drink, and exacerbating climate change. It also explores the impact of the microplastic cri-sis on people and the environment and how to find solutions to this global problem. It is a synthesis of information from a number of sources.
