Abstract (EN)

The increase in the number of road vehicles and the development of electronic systems used in these vehicles have revealed the need for different standards in the automotive field and remote monitoring of vehicles. The subject covered in this study is the introduction and application of the technical infrastructure of the concept which is known as "connectivity" of the vehicles. The concept of 'Connectivity' of the vehicles and its possibilities offered are used for both driver and vehicle remote monitoring, inspection, checking, analysing of driving style of the driver and performance of the vehicle and emission values. The concept of 'Connectivity' and the previous designs of remote connection and monitoring systems are handled in chapter 1. According to the several examples which are selected from many instances, are compared by advantages, disadvantages and options. In chapter 2, automotive diagnostic standards (OBD) and protocols are mentione. Controller Area Network (CAN) structure and its details are described in chapter 3. Hardware design of microcontroller based, industrial automatic vehicle diagnostic and monitoring system is explained in detail in chapter 4. Block diagram of the system, the integrated circuit chip that is used in system, the schematic of the system and the completed system prototype are given. In chapter 5, the software of microcontroller based, industrial automatic vehicle diagnostic and monitoring system is explained with software code examples. Flow diagram of the software which is required to drive the hardware is given. In chapter 6, the results obtained by this thesis study, the outputs on the web side and the achievements are given. Deficiency, developable parts, the cost of the system and performance data of this study are mentioned in that chapter. The goal of realizing a microcontroller based, industrial automatic vehicle diagnostic and monitoring system is to design an easy to use, inexpensive and functional vehicle monitoring system which can work on all conformant vehicles. With the designed system, it is aimed at the first stage to be able to obtain the data that vehicle manufacturer manufacturers are obliged to give as international standards. The system is designed to be connected to two separate vehicle communication network. If the specific data belonging to the vehicle manufacturer is known, all information about the vehicle can be read.
