The effect of microclimate in the design of the building and its environment

The aim of this study named `The Effect of Microclimate in the Design of the Building and its Environment? is to determine the effects of microclimatic conditions in the design of buildings. Among the microclimatic effects sun and wind are taken into consideration whereas those effects which are hard to control - like moisture content ? are left out. The method used for the study is a research on 3 desing examples that are quite different from each other following a general search of literature concerning the subject. The study is made up of 6 chapters. The first chapter is the introduction which deals with the main features of the study.The following chapter is about the general definitions and concepts of the building and the environment and explores the building ? environment relationship. History, concept and the varieties of climate are studied in the third chapter. The fourth chapter deals with the effects of sun and wind in terms of microclimatic control. The fifth chapter is a study on the 3 example designs concerning the effects of microclimate on the building and its environment. The last chapter is assigned to the conclusion and proposals.
