Online arbitration from the aspect of international commercial arbitration

This thesis deals with the online arbitration method in terms of international commercial arbitration. One of the online dispute resolution methods that emerged as a result of developments in internet and communication technologies is online arbitration. The need for the online arbitration method, which has an important function in the resolution of electronic commerce disputes with a cross-border character in the first place, has shown itself in terms of many kinds of disputes during the Covid-19 pandemic process. Since there are no special regulations on the online arbitration method at local and international levels, the applicability of this method is possible to the extent of its compliance with the general regulations on the commercial arbitration. For this reason, it is necessary to address issues such as the position of the online arbitration method in the existing legal structure and whether it needs special regulations by being recognized as an independent method or not.
