Abstract (EN)

In this study, the national, moral, humane and cultural values which are covered in the texts of the Turkish course book for the 6th grade prepared by the Ministry of National Education have been determined. In the first chapter of the research, the definition, functions and classification of the value have been done, and the theoretical framework has been formed regarding the place of values, description of the text and its properties in the curriculum. The goal, importance, assumptions and definitions of the research have been specified depending on the status of the problem.In the research, nineteen texts under six themes in the Turkish course book for the 6th grade prepared by the Ministry of National Education have been examined and reviewed. The values which are included and not included in the texts have been determined as the result of this examination.In conclusion, mostly independence, religious values, respect, affection and patriotism respectively have been taught and included in the Elementary 6th Grade Turkish course book. In addition to these, it has been seen that attaching importance to being healthy and tolerance values are not covered in the texts.Key Words: Values, Value Transference, Teaching Turkish
