Abstract (EN)
The ability of individuals to save and evaluate their savings is a prerequisite for realization of investments. It can be said that individuals generally prefer financial investment instruments such as foreign currency, gold, time deposit accounts, and do not prefer stocks when evaluating their savings. For this reason, it is important to investigate the factors affecting the stock preferences of employees in different sectors on the basis of organizational behavior. In this context the study, it is aimed to determine the factors affecting the stock preference within the scope of behavior evaluating their savings of employees working in the province of Çorum which is affiliated to the Ministry of National Education within the framework of behavioral finance with the independent sample T test, one-way Anova test, post-hoc pairwise comparison tests and logistic regression analysis. Before the analyses, factor analysis was applied with the reliability and normality tests. A survey of 27 questions was applied to 551 employees of the Ministry of National Education, and the survey data were analyzed with the SPSS 27.0 package program. According to the results of independent sample T test and one-way Anova test; It has been observed that there are differences among the participants according to gender, teachers' education level, income level, home ownership, time to invest in stocks, portfolio size and financial education status. In these tests, a difference was determined in the stock investments of the participants based on self-confidence, knowledge, emotional and social behavioral tendencies. According to the results of the logistic regression analysis, it was determined that the increase in male employees and income level increased the probability of investing in stocks. It has been determined that home ownership, age, education and marital status do not have a statistically significant effect on the probability of investing in stocks. When the studies on the subject are evaluated, the investments made in the stocks for the employees in different sectors have been investigated within the scope of behavioral finance. However, there were no studies in which the factors affecting the stock preferences of the employees affiliated to the Ministry of National Education were investigated and the studies in which the logistic regression analysis method was used. In this respect, it is thought that the study will contribute to the literature.
