Abstract (EN)
This thesis focuses on determining the opinions of teachers about the problems related to foreign students' education who study in public schools belonging to the Ministry of Education in Antalya. Interviewing model was used in the study. The boundaries of research covers the teachers who work in primary and secondary public schools in Konyaaltı District which have foreign students in the academic year of 2019-2020 in Antalya. Altogether 475 teachers have been interviewed, 177 of whom were primary school teachers and 298 were branch teachers working in 6 primary schools and 4 secondary schools. Although a total of 475 teachers were surveyed, only 247 questionnaires were taken into consideration. The sample was determined by using the sample width tables (Balcı, 2001, p.107) according to the neutrality rule by means of disproportionate cluster sampling. In order to provide the data required for the research, a questionnaire was developed to determine the opinions of primary and secondary school teachers about the problems of foreign students. The survey consists of two parts. The survey consists of two parts. In the first part, the academic and personal information of the teachers who answered the questionnaire and in the second part, 53 questions related to the problems of foreign students are included. While determining the survey questions, a comprehensive literature review was carried out and as a result of this, it was concluded that the problems of foreign students should be examined in the context of school administration, teachers, parents and students. Five-point Likert scale was used for each question in the questionnaire (1: Almost never, 2: Rarely, 3: Sometimes, 4: Often, 5: Almost always). All significance tests were based on p≤.05 level. For the analysis of the data, percentage, frequency, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, pearson correlation coefficient and multiple linear regression analysis were used. T-test was used for unrelated samples from parametric tests, and one-factor variance analysis was performed for related samples. If the assumptions of the parametric tests cannot be met, the Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis tests, which are non-parametric tests, were used. As a result of this research, it was revealed that, regarding the problems of foreign students faced in their education process, the teachers' attitudes and behaviors have a high level of positive effect. It was also determined that the attitudes and behaviors of the school management regarding the education and training process, the support and completion measures of the teachers, the attitudes and behaviors of the parents regarding the education process and the education-training competencies of the students have a high level of positive contribution to the problems of foreign students.
