Abstract (EN)

Decision-making is the process of evaluating options according to the criteria for the objective to be selected when there are many options available. Making a decision is often attempted with experience or intuitive ways. These types of decision making can lead to unreliable results. Therefore to make decision-making systematically, some tools were developed. These tools are being used in in many disciplines such as management, engineering, design, architecture. Decision-making tools which are used in the architectural design and architectural technology may be adapted from tools developed for other disciplines or specifically developed. With the industrial revolution, many innovations occurred in area of architectural design like as other areas. Due to acceleration of construction processes, number of workers increased, but the technical expertise of the workers decreased. This led to a necessity of more detailed and sysytematically representation of application projects. After industrial revolution, increased number and diversity of materials and construction techniques begun to cause complexity in detail design which is a sub process of architectural design. The architect must answer lots of questions as follows: Which materials will be used when designing a building? Which construction techniques are more suitable to use? How to combine building materials when design a building element? How assembly of different building elements affect the performance of building? To make this complexity more simple and systematic, some researches have been made. In these researches detail design tools have been developed to assist design process. Hereby, in order to increase the quality of the building, possible design problems are tried to be controlled. In a systematic design process, an experienced architect carries out decision-making with his/her knowledge whereas a newly graduated architect or architecture student may be intuitive in decision-making, resulting in a difference of the outcome. The aim of this study is recommendation of decision-making tools for the steps in detail design processes, in order to systematizing decision-making situations.
