Topology in architectural design

ThesisComputers have been used not only representing and visualizing but also developing tehe designafter 1990s with the improvement of their technologies and design programs. The newtechnologies go in to the architecture occur new forms and new space comprehensions. Theobjective of the thesis is to define a framework for new space comprehensions in architecturaldesign with topology.The first chapter is introduction part. In this part some information about the objective, scope andmethod of the thesis is given.The second chapter covers the context of topology in which the other diciplines consist of theconseptual meaning of topology. The sub-definations of the topology are given with examples inthis part.The third chapter covers an investigation about the relation of design, architecture and topology.With the context of topology and digital design technologies Under Forces The Changes ofTopological Forms into Architectural Spaces, Animative Design titles are inspected with theexamples of new space comprehensions of the architectural design .The fourth chapter covers the topological optimization in architectural design. The process ofoptimization , the analysis programs used in this process and optimizaton methods are inspectedin this part.In the last part, the results of the thesis are presented.Keywords: topology, topological forms, digital design technologies, topological optimizationJURY:1.Doç.
