Reading architectural language through the line characteristic as a representative of architecture: the example of Nevzat Sayın

Sketching as a representative of architecture, gives an opportunity for expressing architectural ideas and thoughts briefly. Sketching as also being a connection to mind through hand, contains traces of peculiar to scriber. Line is characteristic to individuals. While same individuals' lines are creating a special tool for connection also differs from other scribers. That differing may happen through lines selves and may also be with types of lines and drawing way of those lines. Therefore, architect to be selective and the way of analytic thinking reflects characteristics to representing. From the first steps of designing to product, whole process includes traces of architect and his way of connection. This way of architectural connection can be read through like a kind of speaking language. Those languages differs from others or can be easily distinguished from same architect. Sketching as being structures of architectural language and one of architectural representatives, is inevitable of showing differings from each other. Because they speak the language of representative. This article, examines representing and language with the line as being the first representative of architectural idea, and the product as structure, which both they are showing similarities and breaking points, aims a reading through the line characteristics and languages with Architect Nevzat Sayın's sketchings and buildings. In this context, Sayın's projects and sketches between 1984-2018 been examined under four headings of 1984-1994, 1994-1998, 1998-2008 and 2008-2018 with the frame of architectural language and featured situations.
