Abstract (EN)
This work studies the concept of transparency and exhibits the relations between this concept and architecture. The key words are: transparency, permeability, organized transparency, interpenetration, simultaneity, literal transparency, phenomenal transparency. This work, which studies the concept of transparency together with social, cultural, and physical factors, demonstrates the role transparency plays in human life and its purposes for use and tools by considering all different definitions of the concept up to now. In architecture, a discipline which is oriented towards human, the reflections of this concept and in the forms of and the purposes of transparency is used in architecture are analysed. Within the framework of this thesis, no single truth was aimed at but they are studied in all viewpoints and judged through causes resulting from today?s conditions, human needs technology developed , building techniques , psychological and social parameters while studying the transformation of the concept. Chapter 1 is the introduction and in this chapter the problem is presented and the limits of study is provided Chapter 2 analyses different definitions of transparency and the concept is introduced first and then the roles these differents definitions play in our lives are revealed. Chapter 3 reserachs perception and the factors of perception, how transparency is perceived and the factors that affect this perception. Chapter 4, the ways of the transparency is emplayed in architecture and the reasons underlying them are analysed and examples are provided to explain them. Chapter 5, remarks are made within the context of the previous chapters of the thesis.
