Özet (EN)
This thesis studies the relation between structure and ornament. Structure andornament is taken separately and conceptually analyzed. Fellow Kerrformulated architecture as structure plus architecturesque in his speech inR.I.B.A in 1869. In his speech, architecturesque is defined as the meanings thatare determined by architectural design elements' usages and considered in 4levels. 1-Structure ornamentalised, 2-Ornament structuralised, 3-Structureornamented, 4-Ornament Constructed. In this thesis, these levels are acceptedand considered as basic approaches to comment on and to discuss the relationbetween ornament and structure in architecture. They are used to adducemodern architecture masterpieces. The modern architecture samples that donot relate to the decided levels, through their examination a fifth relation level isobtained. This level, which is called ornamentation by form, examines therelation between structure and ornament through architectural mass formation.
