A structural analysis experience in architecture: Shopping center buildings in Ankara

A STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS EXPERIENCE IN ARCHITECTURE SHOPPING CENTER BUILDINGS IN ANKARA (M.Sc. Thesis) Hasan Tahsin SELÇUK GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY January 2005 ABSTRACT Shopping Center Buildings analised in a 'structural, semiologic' method which are creating a commercial movement in the city, build after 1990 in this study. According to this analise, buildings criticised, and at this proccess, buildings Defined; with analises buildings Percepted; and according to current area, with social and economic incomes commented and criticised. This study had done for critical purpose; according to results of structural analise for Shopping Centers; according to examination of the buildings in the design proccess, to be aware of the chosen approach. The fact had clearified for the well working structures and true messages communicating buildings. At this study, in a context of scientific fiction, the research method identified as a 'Structuralism' and with this content of the study determined. The suitable approach to this area is the approach of A.J. Greimas had created that the facts examined with this. This accepted approach is, as a Defining language; introducing the buildings, as a Methodological language; structural definitions of the buildings, as a Ephistomological language; according to informations and definitions of buildings had criticised. This study propared in a discipline with tree staged analising.
