Abstract (EN)
In the present study, mechanical properties of composite materials reinforced by mineral were investigated. Mechanical properties of the composite specimens reinforced by minerals were determined experimentally and numerically for different weight ratios of mineral particles. Graphene and huntite minerals were added to epoxy resin to examine the effect of mineral types on the mechanical properties. In addition, the effect of non-layered huntite mineral unlike graphene, in nano-sized grain structure, was investigated. For these purposes, 0.5 weight percent, 1 weight percent and 3 weight percent graphene and huntite minerals were added to the epoxy and huntite-epoxy, graphene-epoxy, huntite-graphene-epoxy mineral reinforced samples were manufactured. Composite beams reinforced by the nano-sized minerals were examined numerically and experimentally for the determination of the mechanical properties. In the numerical analyses, the critical buckling load and free vibration response were obtained using ANSYS Mechanical APDL 17.0 finite element software. In addition, mechanical properties of composites specimens were examined by tensile test, dynamic mechanical analysis, free vibration test and buckling test.
