This thesis aimed at clarifying the jurisprudence of Imam Abu Bakr Ala' Al-Din Al- Samarqandi (d. 540 AH), and extracting his views on doctrinal and jurisprudential issues through his book on the principles of jurisprudence called (Mizan al-Usul fi Nahat al-Uqul), The scope of this study is defined in the first volume of it as a model for the imam's jurisprudence, and his firm understanding of the principles and branches. This study relied on the historical descriptive approach when tracing the author's era, his personal and scientific translation, and the analytical inductive approach, by following the issues in the book of Imam al-Samarqandi, clarifying the issue and then editing it, then clarifying the sayings in it, discussing the evidence, and giving preference to what appeared to be preferred by the researcher. away from fanaticism. The most important results of this study were: that Imam al-Samarqandi is one of the great Hanafi scholars who served the school of jurisprudence and principles, and great scholars graduated from him who had a great service to the Hanafi school of thought, and that he relied in his book Mizan al-Usool on the original sources (the Qur'an, Sunnah, consensus and analogy) in deriving legal rulings, and dependent sources such as custom and the saying of the companion, and he had opinions and weightings that indicated his depth and deductive jurisprudential capabilities, as the author excelled in linking jurisprudential issues with fundamentalist rules, Al- Samarqandi's book indicates his wide knowledge of the jurisprudence of the opponent - which is a condition of jurisprudence and jurisprudential deduction - just as the way he discussed others who disagreed with his opinion, and his mention of clear evidence with the aspect of evidence from it was what distinguishes the book. In his sayings, the author did not confine himself to his Hanafi school of thought, rather he took from other schools such as the Shafi'i school, and he used to choose from the opinions what he saw as closer to the evidence. other than the belief of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah. The diversity of the author's sources and his ability to discuss various jurisprudence, fundamentalist and doctrinal issues in a very wide and detailed way reflects his broad knowledge and good scientific mastery, Also, his interest in presenting different sayings on a single issue indicates his objectivity and that he does not fanatically adhere to his jurisprudential school of thought, and his piety in issuing fatwas, and this is what is known about him in his autobiography.
