ABSTRACT PERSIAN ARMY IN THE BC 6TH-4TH CENTURIES When the Great Kyros (II Kyros) ended the Kingdom of Med in 550 BC, the foundations of the Persian Empire, which would preserve for two hundred years, were laid. Persian rise, which began with the conquest of Sardis during the reign of Kyros, continued with the conquest of many regions in Anatolia and the borders of the state extend to India in the east, to the Aegean coast in the West and to the Danube basin in the north, from the Caucasus to Nubia in the South. In order to understand how the Persian Empire, gradually gaining power and becoming a world empire, has come to this point, it is necessary to examine and examine its military structure in detail. In the Persian society dominated by the understanding of the army-nation, military service was adopted as a compulsory duty from noble class to slave class. The importance of reason and common sense in human life is not only strong in the education of the Persians, raised with the ideals of being a good soldier and moral person from childhood to adulthood, but also in the education of the Persians. Military training in difficult and heavy conditions, supported the development of the Persians soldiers in their spiritual direction while providing them with the strength to be able to survive in all kinds of situations, resistant to hunger and thirst. The Persian army, formed by Persian soldiers, was the founder of the Empire during the great Cyrus, with the development of its sovereignty it became a permanent army in which the representatives of the citizens of the people served and duty. The Persian army consisted of heavy and light infantry units; cavalry units forming the power of attack; Immortals Union, which was considered as the special protection of the King; mercenaries and local forces consisting of castles and garrisons; and naval forces consisting of the bases of the Phoenicians.
