Abstract (EN)

When we research the word mobbing etymologically, it means attacking in crowds, hitting someone, social aggression of grouped people against one person or another group, insulting, humiliating and harassing. Mobbing, which is also expressed as psychological violence and bullying, is also used to systematically harass a person or a group for a long time. Regardless of the purpose for which it is done, it is not an acceptable phenomenon in terms of the harm it causes to people. Unfortunately, although most of the research today is about the consequences of physical violence, the harm caused by mobbing is worth researching and talking about as much as it does. Mobbing, which usually occurs in business life and negatively affects the working life of employees, is an important management problem for managers in businesses. This research was conducted to examine the effect of mobbing perception on contextual performance and to determine whether mobbing perception and contextual performance differ according to demographic characteristics. In this study, the perceptions of 399 public employees in Bilecik regarding the mobbing phenomenon and the effect of this phenomenon on the contextual performance were discussed and the studies in the related field were examined and the results were tried to be obtained with the survey application. According to the results obtained, it was determined that single individuals, those who work in the field of security (police, soldiers) and those with a higher monthly income level have higher mobbing perception. At the same time, in this study, it was determined that as the education level of the individuals increased, their contextual performance increased and the contextual performance of those working in the health field was higher than those working in other fields. Considering the results of the study, it was seen that the general variables of mobbing had an effect on the contextual performance, and a statistically significant, negative and moderate relationship was found between mobbing and contextual performance. Keywords: Mobbing, Contextual Performance, Effect of Mobbing on Contextual Performance.
